WinMFS - MFSCopy (Disk to Disk copy)

Pros:

  • Copies over everything including recorded shows
  • Better error handling if bad sectors found

Cons:

  • Takes long time if you have many recorded shows
  • Needs source and destination drive(s) connected at the same time

 

1. Download WinMFS

2. Unzip the File

3. Setup your computer

4. Double Click on the program to launch it.
(If using Vista, right click then run it as an"Administrator.")

5. Select Source Drive

6. Tools->Mfscopy

7. Select Destination Drive

8. Click on Start Button

9. Wait ...

10. Click "Yes" when asked to expand the drive

11. Switch to Destination Drive

12. Tools->Mfsinfo and check Destination Drive.

13. All Done!

 

WinMFS - Backup / Restore
(Truncated Backup to a file / Restore from a file)

Pros:

  • Very Quick
  • Only Source or Destination drive(s) needed at a time.

Cons:

  • Recorded shows are not backed up

 

Backup Steps

1. Download WinMFS

2. Unzip the File

3. Setup your computer

4. Double Click on the program to launch it.
(If using Vista, right click then run it as an"Administrator.")

5. Select Source Drive

6. File->Backup

7. Click on Start Button

8. Wait ...

9. All Done!

 

Restore Steps

1. Double Click on the program to launch it.
(If using Vista, right click then run it as an"Administrator.")

2. Select Destination Drive

3. File->Restore

4. Click on Start Button

5. Wait ...

6. Click "Yes" when asked to expand the drive

7. Tools->Mfsinfo and check Destination Drive.

8. All Done!

 

WinMFS - Add an eSATA drive or 2nd Drive

1. Download WinMFS

2. Unzip the File

3. Setup your computer

4. Double Click on the program to launch it.
(If using Vista, right click then run it as an"Administrator.")

5. Select Source Drive
Select internal drive as "A drive" and select eSATA drive as "B drive"

6. Tools->Mfsadd

7. Tools->Mfsinfo to verify.

8. All Done!
