Update: 08/26/2007 Beta Build 5 is posted
- Added support for going over 2.2TB for TivoHD
If you want to add more than 2.2 TB to TivoHD, you will need 64bit Windows OS (WinXP 64 sp2 or later, Windows 2003 64 sp1 or later, Vista 64) and hardware RAID. Screenshot is here.
Update: I think it's still broken for Win2000 so don't use it on that OS.
- Fixed drive size calculation bug for Windows 2000 (you will need sp4 or later) Drive size calculation is still little off with this OS due to lack of an API function so it's best to you Windows XP sp2 or later.
Update: 08/20/2007 Beta Build 4 is posted
Important bug fix:
Prior to WinMFS Beta 4 release, Linux swap was not setup correctly if you used mfscopy.
To fix it, pull the drive from your Tivo and download and run the latest WinMFS.
Goto tools-> fix swap and swap will be setup correctly.
If you used backup/restore you are ok.
Starting with WinMFS Beta 4, swap is setup correctly with mfscopy.
Update: 08/18/2007 Beta Build 3 is posted
- Fixes mfscopy of older Series 2 original factory drives.
- Added tab control for mfsinfo to accommdate screen size smaller than 1024x768.
- Added File->Delete Format
Some new drive comes pre-formatted and auto mounts if attached to your PC so use this option to delete format on the drive.
Warning: This option will erase MBR or bootpage on your drive.
Update: 08/12/2007 Beta Build 2 is posted
This release addresses GSOD problem on Tivo S3.
Update: 08/10/2007 Beta Build 1 is posted
Alpha Test went really well so I'm bumping this thing to Beta.
- Added "Show Mounted Drive" on File->Select Drive screen so you can select mounted drives are well. But you need to be careful with this because you can loose your data on your computer. It won't let you select the drive that Windows is install though.
- I've included drive model and Bus Type information so it's easier to distinguish between drives when you select a drive.
- Added a new Tool called "MfsSupersize"
Use this to gain extra hours on your S2 and S3. Bigger the drive, you will gain more hours. It's a new tool so if you spot any problems, let me know and you can go back and turn it off.
Update: 08/10/2007
If you got a Hitachi 1 TB drive from Best Buy, looks like it auto mounts and it won't show up in WinMFS.
So all you have to do is use windows diskmanager, and delete the existing partitions. Make sure you don't have Tivo drive connected when you launch diskmanager. On the next release, I might let a user select a mounted drive but there is a chance that one can wipe it out with a click of a button so maybe not.
Update: 08/07/2007 Alpha Build 3 is posted.
Fixed S1 w/ 1 MFS Pair support,
Fixed stack overflow for Mfscopy when copying expanded drives.
Fixed minor display bugs.
Added auto detect for additional disk space in Mfscopy.
Using MS Windows to upgrade is new, so remember the following if you are in a hurry to get started.
Don't use Windows Disk Manager to mount your Tivo drive.
